How to Maximize your Membership Benefits

The greatest value of the RPIA Group has never been put into words until now. Many people join for the rebates or the Annual Meeting. Here are the ways to get a 10 x to 50 x return on your dues.

  1. How to use the E-Group (therpiagroup@googlegroups.com): Ask questions, not just the causal question, but the following questions are some examples:
    • Who has a shop-tested formula for X? I have a new customer that wants a weekly delivery and I do not have the time for extensive R&D.
    • Labor is killing me, so I am looking to buy a Polin or Brand X Cookie Machine for Party Cookies and more. What do you use and why?
    • May I come to visit and run my formula on your machine and also speak with the operator of the machine to learn the quirks?
    • Who is operating a “Topal High-Speed Mixer Model 1234 or larger? I am going to use it to make tons of sponge cake batter and hear that this will save me labor and produce an outstanding product. Or is there a different Machine to do this?
    • Hobart is killing me on parts, where is an after-market distributor for the parts for older 1401 V mixers?
    • My nephew is joining the company. Who can train him on mixing and over operations for 3 months? He will work 40+ hours a week and I pay all his expenses and wages. I am hoping you treat him like a regular employee.
    • My whole decorating department walked out over a mistake. Does the Group have suggestions on how I can get through this? Looking for Pivots!
    • HR issues, Building a new store/plant and you do not think to ask for help?
    • What type of Delivery Vans are you guys using? Cooler or just A/C? Shelving, graphics, and lift gates.
  2. Where can you talk with someone about 3rd Party Inspections? Finding a Free HACCP Program with all the forms, inspection checklists, and more to get your program from concept to reality – on the cheap.
  3. What new technology is out there to help bakers? Talk to people that know, use, and have built/purchased, etc.
  4. You must be a reader to get the benefit of the information provided. There are aspects of The Path Act that can save you tens of $ 1,000.
  5. Do not just call your local equipment guy. Use the RPIA Equipment Program first to have 10% to 30%. But if you just call your local guy and they file with the company everybody else will not be able to get a quote for you because the company locks them out. RPIA Equipment works on 6% MarkUp compared to 20 to 50% for distributors. Can we always do it? No, but we have been saving bakers thousands of dollars over the last 3 years of testing.
  6. What about getting 3 – 5 people together and having a discussion over Zoom? RPIA has an account with no time limit!
  7. RPIA and its members are rich in experience. We have all made mistakes, but by not asking you are going to make the same or similar mistakes and they all cost you money. Learn by experience. All of us are experts in something and we want our members to be willing to share. People who do not share will learn that they will not be abler to get first-hand support!

Communicating is the Secret Sauce. We always hear, “2 heads are better than one!” When we have 300 “heads”.
