For over 20 years, the RPIA Group has worked to help bakers flourish. Originally founded by five friends with a passion for baking, the RPIA Group has always aimed to empower bakers—young and old—as they navigate their way through the baking industry. The RPIA Group’s latest project, spearheaded by founding member Rick Crawford, has been to launch this very site as a way to make our services more accessible to more bakers.
In supporting bakers, the RPIA Group refer back to one of our key principles: that knowledge is power. We know that bakers, especially those with less experience in the field, will find themselves susceptible to accepting unfair prices and agreements. Compounded with the already expensive startup and operating costs, these mistakes can cause serious setbacks. We’ve seen too many instances where a mere lack of information can lead even a more experienced baker down the wrong path, causing unnecessary financial burden and hardship. We want to be a resource that closes that knowledge gap and allows bakers more freedom to do what they do love.
To get a better understanding of the impact that the RPIA Group has on its members, some numbers might help. We’re proud to say that each year the RPIA Group sends over one million dollars to its bakery members, collectively. Looking at a more specific example, an individual bakery that has been part of our group for 20 years reported saving an average of about $37,000 per year—more than $750,000 in total! We hope with the introduction of this website, we can continue to grow our outreach and support for bakers.
